Lately, I have been thinking about the future and what it holds for me, forgetting all about patience. I am in a season where I feel that my present is not enough or good enough for my future. I decided to pray about it about and this is what the spirit of the Lord spoke to me.
Patience is the calm acceptance that things can happen in a different order than the one I have in mind. For 𝑅𝑜𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑠 8:25 tells us,
"But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience."
𝑃ℎ𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑝𝑝𝑖𝑎𝑛𝑠 4:6 tells us to not be anxious about anything but with prayer we should make our requests made known to God.
Which shows that when we pray, God may answer our prayers in that moment, a day later, or even ten years later. But once we pray to God about our future, we should leave it to Him and patiently wait. Our attitude of waiting is always different than the attitude we have when God gives us what we want. When we wait, we grow weary, impatient, angry, sad, we give up, and we simply get tired of waiting.
What I had to learn is that, it is not my time 𝑌𝐸𝑇. My time is yet to come but during my season of waiting, I should use this time to seek God, ask him to prepare me for what is near to come. Even if it takes ten years to come, when it does come, I want to be ready! Sometimes we ask God for things and we are not truly ready for it yet.
Most of us ask God for a certain job, a husband, a house, a car, a wife, new friends, etc. Not realizing that we may not be ready for that new house and what comes with having a new house. This is the season for patience and to ask God to prepare you for what he is going to do and bring into your life.
Just because someone else seems to have it all together and they have what you want. It just means it was their time. Most times we want what others have not realizing what that person had to go through to get it or what they may be going through right now. We have no clue and it is not our job to worry about what someone else has. 𝐺𝑎𝑙𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑎𝑛𝑠 6:9 says,
"And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up."
Continue to pray, fast, forgive, have patience, and do good to others, and watch how your blessing will come. It may not come when you want it but surely it will come on time. Take the time out to rejoice in the present, live life in the present, and be patient for the future, for when it comes, you will be ready.
My challenge to you is to tell God what it is that you want, ask him for guidance, to order your steps, to give you patience, to help you to not grow weary of waiting, because they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint - 𝐼𝑠𝑎𝑖𝑎ℎ 40:31.
I know that God is ready to work wonders and miracles in your life but he is wanting you to be patient and for you to wait on the future. But during your season of waiting, do not give up, continue to praise him, continue to pray and fast, and be patient for it will bring you ℎ𝑜𝑝𝑒 and 𝑝𝑒𝑎𝑐𝑒 in the 𝑓𝑢𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑒.
